The Humberside Group of Local Medical Committees Ltd (Humberside LMC) is the professional voice for all NHS General Practitioners and practice teams across Hull, East Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire. They democratically represent the professional interests of all GPs working in these areas including Partners, Salaried GPs and locums.

Objective

N3i provides the LMC with a smooth transition to a fully managed IT service.

Overview

The LMC’s existing IT supplier were no longer able to provide support for them, and N3i were chosen as the new provider. This also coincided with moving out of their existing premises, into temporary accommodation and then into new permanent accommodation. They required a full transfer of IT support and assistance with multiple relocations, all occurring concurrently.

The Challenges

The LMC were limited by budget and needed to match their IT expenditure to previous expenditure. Time was also limited for the switchover as it needed to take place within three months in time for the deadline of their office relocation.

Issues with NHSmail mailbox size limitations were identified, along with poor Wi-Fi at the new premises.

The team that managed both our migration project and our moving project were absolutely brilliant, particularly Andy, Chris and Tommy. They were proactive with making sure everything was scheduled in well in advance to avoid as little disruption as possible, they were very responsive when we had issues and always friendly and professional. It was a pleasure to work with them and they were endlessly patient with our daft questions!

The Solution

All LMC laptops were reimaged to an N3i build in a short timeframe.  Shared and personal drives were mapped across from their previous IT provider to ensure uninterrupted data access.

N3i supported LMC’s move to temporary accommodation, implementing Wi-Fi and printing solutions at short notice.

N3i were able to resolve the reduced NHSmail mailbox sizes by purchasing temporary licences with higher allowances and supporting the LMC with email archiving. N3i worked with The One Point to visit the new site and install enhanced wireless access points to improve connectivity.

Impact

The LMC are pleased with the support and service received from N3i and have seen benefits of having the same IT provider as their GP practice constituents, allowing them to better advocate and communicate on their behalf.

Since the transition the LMC have also engaged N3i to provide additional IT services which previously used third parties, such as their CRM database and website hosting.
